Alltec has started manufacturing new transformer control cabinets for Transformadores Itaipu, on a project bound for Coopersul.

The equipment will be installed on 15/18.75 MVA power transformers with on-load tap changers, incorporating advanced automation, supervision, and signal digitalization features.

This scope of supply will use Schweitzer SEL-2414 and SEL-2505 relays, applied to functions such as temperature monitoring, voltage regulation, and integration of transformer signals into the substation automation systems.

Transformadores Itaipu stands out in the Brazilian market as a supplier of 5 to 40 MVA transformers rated up to 145 kV, meeting ABNT, IEC, ANSI, and IEEE standards, with a high level of embedded technology.

The partnership between Transformadores Itaipu and Alltec underscores the importance of integration among Brazilian manufacturers to meet new demands for digitalization in the field, communication over protocols such as IEC 61850 and DNP3, and operation in increasingly automated environments.

With the use of modern IEDs, power transformers now offer greater monitoring, control, and communication capabilities, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of remote and digital substations.
